Abstract This antebellum and mid-nineteenth century scrapbook from the American South bears the name Clara Agnes Boulter on the inside front endpaper. The contents of this book are largely centered on ladies' manners, etiquette, advice, short stories, and fashion for women, though a significant component includes references to Confederate generals and Southern sympathies. Several items suggest the creator had ties to Texas and Virginia, and new clippings from Southern papers in Knoxville, Louisville,...

The Brinton family papers document several generations of the Brinton, Steinmetz, and Ward families, who flourished between 1760-1930 in Pennsylvania and New York. Several members of the family played prominent roles in their communities and included landholders, real estate developers, merchants, Civil War surgeons, medical doctors and professors, missionaries, a minister, an art critic, an anthropologist, lawyers, a judge, an engineer, and several authors.

This nineteenth-century American children's scrapbook bears the inscription "To Ella, Much Love from Edith and Edna." The scrapbook features trade cards; Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, and New Year's greeting cards; collectible scraps of flowers, animals, and children; one silk program for "Nunnemacher's Grand Opera" featuring a performance of Martha by the Milwaukee Philharmonic Society.
